Truffles
Impress guests with rich, homemade truffles. Finished with Dolci Frutta melting wafers, they feature a smooth, fudgy center and a classic chocolate coating.
Ingredients
- 2 canisters Dolci Frutta Chocolate Melting Wafers
- ⅔ cup heavy cream
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Heat heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat, or in the microwave, until simmering. Move to a medium sized mixing bowl.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Melt one of your Dolci Frutta according to package directions.
- Pour melted Dolci into the mixing bowl with the heavy cream and vanilla extract.
- Stir until well combined, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until firm.
- Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
- Use a tablespoon to scoop out Dolci mixture. Use your hands to roll into balls. Set aside on the prepared baking sheet.
- Melt the remaining canister of Dolci Frutta according to package directions.
- Dip each truffle into the melted Dolci Frutta, then use a fork to lift it out and gently shake off the excess. Place on the prepared baking sheet to set.
- Allow to set slightly before drizzling with remaining Dolci Frutta. Once drizzled, store in the fridge for 10 minutes or until set.
Tips
- Work in batches. Roll and dip a few truffles at a time, keeping the rest chilled so they hold their shape while coating.
- Wait before drizzling. Allow the chocolate coating to set slightly before drizzling so the design stays on top instead of melting in.
